Join the St. Louis Society of Professional Journalists and our colleagues from across Region 7 for a day of networking, learning and celebrating the accomplishments of our students! Look for panels on First Amendment programming, diversity in your newsroom, practical applications of ethics, covering law enforcement in the post-Ferguson era, the new world of A.I., unionization in the newsroom, podcasting the news, covering mass shootings and many other topics! The specific schedule is in development and will be posted as speakers are confirmed.
The event will take place in the convention center at Morris University Center, Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. A continental breakfast and box lunch will be offered, and there are other options available in the MUC cafeteria for purchase. The day will finish up with the Mark of Excellence awards, presented to our student nominees by regional director Loretta McGraw and St. Louis Pro president Elizabeth Donald.
The opening night reception will take place on Friday night. We will also have a room block at an area hotel and information on other hotel options in the area, so watch stlspj.com for updates!
The conference is hosted by the St. Louis Pro chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists, Region 7, and The Alestle at SIUE. Register here!
